Mercy's cancer program is accredited by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer (CoC).

Approval by the CoC ensures patients have access to:
  • Quality care close to home
  • Comprehensive care offering a wide range of state-of-the-art services
  • A multispecialty team approach to coordinate the best treatment options available to cancer patients
  • Ongoing research and information about cancer clinical trials, education and support
  • Lifelong patient follow-up through a cancer registry
  • Ongoing monitoring and improvement of care
Approval by the CoC is given only to facilities that have voluntarily committed to provide the best cancer diagnosis and treatment; and that undergo rigorous performance evaluation with follow-up reviews every three years.
